Pastor Tom Blumberg was ordained as a Calvary Chapel pastor in 1985, where he served as an assistant at Calvary Fellowship, in Seattle. Then in 1992, through prayer, in faith, and by the leading of the Holy Spirit, Pastor Tom began a Bible study in Bellingham that has become known as Calvary Chapel Northwest. We are blessed to be in fellowship with many other churches, including Calvary Chapel of Costa Mesa.
The Bible has declared what our purpose for ministry should be at CCNW as a New Testament Church under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. We pray that you would share in our vision to reach the lost and disciple the saved; “Won-by-One” – though preaching, teaching, discipleship, worship, prayer and servant-hearted, Spirit-lead ministry.
Reach Out – All by the Grace of God we have been given the privilege of reaching out to the world with the gospel message of salvation. God did for man, what man could never do for himself. This truth we proclaim without shame.
(John 3:16, Mathew 28:17-20, Acts 1:8, Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:1-10)
Build Up – Because the Love of Jesus Christ has been poured into our lives, we desire to be worshipers of God. To mature in prayer, Bible study, discipleship, personal witnessing, financial giving, sacrificial service, to bear lasting fruit to the glory of God.
(Ephesians 4:11-16, Colossians 1:27-29, 2 Timothy 3:16-17)
Send Forth – In the Power of the Holy Spirit we have been commissioned to train and equip men and women, boys and girls to use the gifts that God provides to become faithful servants of the Lord in body a of Christ. May we be willing to do whatever He asks and also willing to go wherever He leads. (Matthew 16:24-27, Romans 12, Hebrews 12:1-2, Philippians 2:12-16, 2 Timothy 4:6-8)
Bear Fruit – The prerequisite for bearing fruit is Abiding in Jesus. Jesus is calling us to Himself, in close, daily fellowship. To cling to Him, day by day, hour by hour. Apart from Jesus, we can do absolutely nothing. Do not confuse Christian activity with fruitful service. One exalts the goodness of man and his humanitarian efforts; the other glorifies God in humility with joy, love and unwavering faith. (John 15)
We Worship God in Our Service
There are many ways to serve the Lord at Calvary Chapel Northwest. We believe that everyone has been blessed with gifting from God and we are committed to train and equip our fellowship to use those gifts in and through the Body of Christ. All of our service flows from fellowship with one another, so the best way to begin is by meeting with Pastor Tom so he can learn about you and your heart to be involved. Tom is available after any service or you can schedule an appointment by emailing or calling the office.
We Worship God in Our Sending
Every believer who attends Calvary Chapel Northwest enters the mission field as they leave the building. We are a ministry that is called to prepare each person as ambassadors of Jesus Christ to enter into the harvest fields wherever God has placed them. You are the “light of the world, so let your light shine that God may be glorified.” We also reach out beyond our local community with mission trips to such places as Mexico, Russia, Haiti, and Disaster Relief locations and we support mission works and workers around the world.
We Worship God in Our Giving
The work of the Lord through the ministry of Calvary Chapel is blessed by the financial support of His people. We believe that our time, talents, and treasure are from Him. He gives us the privilege of honoring Him in the way we use what He has entrusted to us. Therefore, as believers, we worship God with our financial offerings from a heart of gratitude. God loves to bless your acts of faithful giving in accordance to His promises.
(Matthew 6:19-21, 2 Corinthians 9:6-8, Philippians 4:10-20, Malachi 3:8-10)
An Offering Box is provided in the lobby located between the doors as you exit the building to receive gifts of worship, which we believe, should be a privileged part of our weekly worship experience as Christians.
